Dr. Shaukat Khan qualified (MBBS) from Khyber Medical College, university of Peshawar, Pakistan in 1973.

 

He went to Abu Dhabi at the end of 1974 where he first worked as a junior Anaesthetist and then as a Specialist Anaesthetist after specialising in Anaesthesiology (MCPS).

 

In 1984 he came to the UK where he had his further post graduate training in Anaesthesia.

 

He worked in a number of different NHS hospitals gaining vast experience in various disciplines e.g. General surgery, ENT, Oral surgery, Cardiac, Obstetric and Paediatric Surgery, to mention a few, along with Intensive Care. He started as SHO and worked up to Consultant level.

 

In the early Nineties he developed a special interest in Community Dental Care, providing General Anaesthesia in dental practices when it was allowed, while still working in the hospital, and now Conscious Sedation, including intravenous Sedation for adults and inhalation sedation for children.

 

He is one of a few fully hospital trained Anaesthetists with years of experience, involved in providing Conscious Sedation in Dental Practices.
