Dr Anil Patel qualified from Bristol University.  As a final year student he won the prestigious ‘Medical Protection award’ for a research project which he carried out in Jamaica. He undertook his vocational training with Mr John Darby who at the time was the London Education Dean and moved on to work in different hospital and community posts before finally coming to the Bricket Wood Dental practice.

 

He was awarded the MJDF in 2009 and a diploma in cosmetic dentistry from the Aesthetic academy in 2009.He has undertaken many cosmetic treatments such as botox and dermal fillers since then .He actively attends advanced courses in cosmetic and complex dentistry and travels worldwide.  He has just completed the PG Cert in Dental education at the University of Bedfordshire and is a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators.  He is currently undertaking a MSc in restorative and aesthetic dentistry at the University of Manchester and the PG Cert in Dental Law and Ethics at the University of Bedfordshire.


Dr Anil Patel is an Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons since 2010 taking part in writing of the MJDF/LDS exams examining in different elements of the OSCE and SCRS. He is also been appointed an examiner for The National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN). Dr Patel is a principal of two multi surgery practices in Bricket Wood and Hemel Hempstead.

He also has worked as an honorary part time lecturer and teacher at Kings College Hospital where he has been involved in undergraduate teaching and taken part in examining postgraduate students for the past two years. Currently he is working as part time clinical teacher at Guys hospital in the restorative department and is teaching 4th-5th undergraduates.

 

Dr Patel has taken part in foundation training for the past 20 years and been with the London Scheme and recently joined the East of England scheme. He has been involved in interviewing and selecting candidates for the London Deanery and is a very experienced trainer. He supports and trains potential applicants for the DFT interviews for them to succeed in the recruitment process. He has also has been a member of the Local Dental committee and has taken a strong part in shaping the local dental community.

 

Dr Patel has been appointed an expert on the panel of Speed Medical Group and regularly prepares reports for insurance purposes.  He has had extensive training as an expert witness in preparing medico-legal reports by Bond Salon and works as an independent clinical expert for to the GDC where he prepares case reports for them.

 

Bricket Wood Practice has been made into a strong Denplan practice and one of its flagship locations. Over the years been he has made it into a referral practice, he has welcomed some of the best clinicians in the profession to join the practice and offer specialist care.

Outside the practice Dr Patel plays competitive badminton which he plays up to four times a week and fitness training. He enjoys traveling and playing golf.
